We’re seeking a strategic and driven Renewables Construction Craft Recruiting Sr. Manager to lead recruitment efforts for skilled trades across wind, solar, and battery storage projects.

 

In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end recruiting processes, build strong relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders, and ensure a steady pipeline of qualified craft professionals. You’ll also oversee internal transfers, layoff list utilization, and local hire initiatives, all while strengthening our employment brand and supporting the successful delivery of clean energy infrastructure nationwide.

 

Location: This is a remote position, that can be located anywhere in the United States. Up to 15% travel is expected to visit sites and visit main offices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute short and long-term resource management strategies aimed at developing solid craft candidate pipelines to support the growing needs of the business
  • Develop a sales and marketing mindset in the resource management department
  • Work to understand and support the construction business
  • Serve as a promoter and salesperson for the company and industry
  • Partner with Communications & Creative Services to develop and monitor the employment brand
  • Ensure the corporate brand is incorporated into all craft recruiting efforts and tools
  • Develop overall craft recruitment strategies using tools, resources, and technology
  • Gain the support and commitment of senior management that talent drives the company’s success
  • Develop workforce planning protocols and processes that connect to the business
  • Work closely with Senior Director of HR to develop and monitor the company's succession plan for long-term talent needs analysis
  • Establish strong connections to the business; Be seen as a business partner to all service lines and divisions
  • Manage craft recruiters effectively; Transform the recruitment portion of their job description to focus on sourcing and proactive recruiting
  • Develop and mentor the recruiting team to ensure talent scouting is an ongoing process
  • Reallocate budgets and resources to focus on finding leads rather than resumes
  • Assist in the development of a High School, Tech School, and College strategy; Build needed relationships to cultivate talent at an early age
  • Become involved in industry associations and symposiums to build relationships with potential talent further
  • Oversee the employee referral program as a key component of the resource management process.
  • Develop strong partnerships with RPOs to fill talent needs during heavy recruiting periods
  • Develop metrics for time-to-fill, quality hires, and other relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure the flow of information from stakeholders, admins, recruiters and coordinators is consistent and error free to facilitate hiring and onboarding of top talent
  • Develop Resource Specialists to optimize transfer of employees between projects/divisions
  • Develop site specific strategy for local craft hiring

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years recruiting experience required, with 3+ years within construction
  • Previous managerial experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding
  • Proficient in the use of social media and job boards
  • Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of different roles
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and databases
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from stakeholders
  • Develop presentations and notices for publication that educate employees
  • Effectively present information to top management, employees and/or executives
