The Manager, Supply Chain Quality will plan, organize, implement, and support MasTec Industrial’s supplier, vendor, fabricator, and subcontractor quality management processes across multiple projects. This is a remote corporate quality position supporting project teams with a primary focus on engineering and procurement scopes, bought-out equipment packages, vendor documentation, supplier surveillance, subcontractor quality requirements, and quality-related commercial compliance.

The Manager, Supply Chain Quality will interface with Supply Chain, Document Control, Engineering, Project Quality, Operations, vendors, fabricators, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies to ensure quality requirements are properly identified, included, submitted, reviewed, approved, inspected, and closed throughout the procurement and subcontract lifecycle. Engineering will be a key stakeholder in vendor submittals and technical document reviews, while subcontractor quality requirements will be coordinated through Supply Chain, Project Quality, Operations, and applicable project stakeholders.

This position reports directly to the Director of Quality and supports all MasTec Industrial projects by helping ensure that suppliers, vendors, fabricators, and subcontractors are properly evaluated, approved, monitored, and held accountable to contract, code, specification, documentation, inspection, and turnover requirements.

  • Coordinate criticality assessments for major vendors, fabricators, suppliers, and bought-out equipment packages to determine required levels of quality oversight, source inspection, third-party surveillance, FAT participation, witness points, and hold points.
  • Support development and maintenance of the Schedule of Required Vendor Documents (SORVD), including required vendor submittals, responsible reviewers, due dates, approval status, and required approvals prior to fabrication, shipment, mobilization, installation, or turnover.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Document Control to ensure required vendor documents are submitted on schedule, routed to the proper stakeholders, reviewed, approved, and tracked through closure.

  • Work with Supply Chain, subcontract administration, Project Quality, and Operations to support enforcement of quality-related subcontract requirements, including document retention, timely submittals, inspection access, corrective action response, and turnover documentation.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and help resolve supplier, vendor, fabricator, and subcontractor quality issues, including nonconforming materials, documentation deficiencies, fabrication defects, missing traceability, late submittals, incomplete turnover packages, and failure to meet project requirements.
  • Support reporting, tracking, and closure of supplier and subcontractor nonconformances, corrective action requests, observations, surveillance findings, and documentation deficiencies.
  • Compile and communicate supplier quality metrics, including vendor document status, surveillance status, criticality assessment results, open quality issues, NCR/CAR status, supplier performance trends, and subcontractor documentation compliance.
  • Promote stop work authority for quality-related events involving supplier-provided materials, fabricated items, equipment packages, subcontracted work, or required quality documentation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory:

  • May supervise or provide functional direction to supplier quality personnel, source inspectors, quality coordinators, document control support personnel, third-party inspectors, or other assigned quality resources.
  • Participate in the review, selection, staffing, and assignment of supplier quality and inspection resources.
